Okay, I downloaded an older game for RPG Maker and got stuck. I saw there were no walkthroughs but there was a Yahoo group for fans of the game. So I decided to go therte to ask for help and after waiting a few days I got a response and I was so happy. Until I read the response.... I was told that the game was outdated and that I shouldn't bother with it. That I needed to play new stuff instead and forget all about Ilheltar's Curse. I'm sorry, but the last I checked, gaming has nothing to do with the game's age. Its playablitiy. How entertaining it is and how much a person can really get into it. And I happen to LOVE Ilheltar's Curse! I'm absolutely addicted to the game and would give just about anything to get further into it. It has nothing to do with being old or new, I love the game because its well-made and fun! I would not have been bothered by it if he had just wanted me to try and get through it myself for the stronger sense of accomplishment, but when I'm told that I'm not supposed to play a game because its old, that pisses me off! Nobody ever said to stop playing the old Final Fantasy games. In fact they were re-released on Gameboy Advance so older players could play them again and newer players could try them out as well! I don't see how this is any different, even if it is a fan-made game and not something profeesionally created. The point is, if a person really likes a game, they should play it and to hell with how old it is!

They did not mean that how it sounded. They only ment older games don't have support, so if you get in troulbe, you can't get help. Unless you want to spend all your time stressting over it.
Newer games offer more support issues. So if you get stuck, people can help you.
What they are saying, is if you want to play the game fine, but it might give you a headache should you get stuck.

I doubt thats the case. If they're in the group, they've played it. And if people have played it, then there must be people who know how to get through it. =/ Not to mention he got pretty snippy with me about it like I had done something wrong by even asking.

People will always be snippy, so how you deal with it is up to you. And, most likely, it was the case. The person who replied probly didn't want to help you, or knew that that game was full of bugs, and didn't want you to run into the same trouble.

Thats just it, its not full of bugs. =\ My computer checks for that stuff and won't let me download anything with bugs or viruses of any sort. @.@

-.- Well even if that was the case, wouldn't he have told me there was a bug rather than being an asshole?

Some people aren't nice people. You have to be willing to take things with a grain of salt. Its not that hard. Not everything that happens to you is bad. Maybe he was a bad mood, and took it out on tne next e-mail he got. That e-mail so happened to be yours.
