Sarah sighed a bit. "You'll have to forgive me, but the idea of not being able to be with Chronos anymore infuriated me," she said. "And why wouldn't I be able to find an Aqua Stone? What is it anyway and where are they usually found?" She had to admit she was vastly confused and she just wanted answers. If she couldn't find what the mermaid spoke of then what would happen? Had the sole purpose of her finding happiness been to have it torn away by something like this? "Chronos....."

The Mermaid shrugged it off.
"I suppose we did go a bit too far. We haven't seen this happen for a long time."
She swam around in a circle, lost in thought for a bit.
"If I remember........the Aqua Stone is a sacred and powerful jewel. Tear shaped. Magical. It was created by the Lords of The Sea eons ago to help change cursed things back to their original purity. They were soft out by nearly everyone in the past, so are extremely hard to find now. It is said one is in an especially hard place to get. Which is why it'll be impossible for you to get it."

Sarah sighed a bit. She seemed sad now. "At least tell me what this place is. Even if its impossible, I have to try," she said. "For him... I didn't think love existed until I met him... And I don't want it all to just disappear..."

"It's in a cavern, sealed with a gate, at the end of the third tunnel under the waterfall. Before you reach the tunnels, you must traverse the Labyrinth that guards the stone. It is filled with horrible monsters, dangerous puzzles, and deadly traps." The mermaid explained.
"But, no single person can ever get the stone. For the gates will only open for a couple."

"I see," Sarah replied. "So in that case I would need help from Chronos? But I couldn't put him in that kind of danger... Besides, I doubt he could hold his breath under water for that long. No human could..." She sighed at this. So in order to be with her love, she would need the help of her love in a location that he likely couldn't access. And even more that meant he could be hurt... Why did this have to be so hard?

The mermaid sighed.
"I trust you see the problem now? The only way to change back into a human is to retrieve the Aqua Stone. The only way to do that is to traverse a nearly impossible maze and be granted access by the Gate of Awakening. Which will only open to a couple. While your mate is a human and can definitely not hold his breath for that long. Nor do we mermaids have any way of changing him to be such."

Sarah sighed as well and if it were not for her being underwater, tears would have surely welled up in her eyes. "So there's nothing that can be done at all..." she murmured. "Thanks anyway..." With that, she swam to the surface. If Chronos was still there, she would have to explain the situation to him.

Chronos was pacing along the side of the lake, waiting for his love to return to him.
Human or mermaid, he didn't care. As long as she showed up.
He was so focused on watching the surface of the lake, that he wasn't watching his feet. He tripped over a rock and fell face-down.
"Who on earth put that rock there?!" He said, spitting out dirt. He was about to pick it up and toss it aside, when he noticed something strange about it. Something that was harder to see from above.
It was giving a dull, brown glow.

Sarah finally reached the surface and swam to the edge of the water. "Chronos?" She said her love's name with a bit of sadness in her voice, knowing that things wouldn't be easy with her being stuck like this.

Chronos looked up at the same time he reached over and touched the stone. A bright flash lit the area.

Sarah's eyes widened as a light suddenly flashed from where Chronos was, surrounding the entire area in pure white for a moment then receding into a tiny glow once more. She felt different now when she realized what had just happened and she began to splash and gulp water trying to swim back to shore but unable to. She was human again alright, but with poor timing as in her human form, she couldn't swim.

The flash of light cleared from Chronos's view and he shook his head.
"What on earth was that all about?" He asked out loud.
It was then he noticed that Sarah was back. Back to being a human and drowing. He rushed towards the bank to pull her safety, giving a cry of alarm. He gave another cry when his legs entangled with something and he fell flat on his chest. ......His strangely bare chest. When did he take off his shirt?
Chronos turned around to free his legs and cried out again. Instead of legs he had a vibrant, green, fish-like tail.

Sarah coughed and sputtered, still trying to make her way out of the water and failing miserably. For a short moment, she thought she had seen Chronos with a fish tail, but this left her mind immediately as she tried to focus on making it out of this alive. But in her struggle she soon passed out and began to sink slowly under the water.

A hand reached out and wrapped around Sarah's wrist. Chronos had gotten over his surprise when he sensed, not saw, sensed Sarah fall below the surface. He dragged himself to the water and plunged in. Now he was dragging her back above the water.

Sarah had felt so close to death in her unconcious state just moments ago. But now she felt safe and secure. Though that was all in her mind. She had no idea what could really be going on at this point as she was still out cold and she couldn't breathe due to water in her lungs. She wasn't completely out of danger just yet...
